Poetry Reading with Alicia Jo Rabins, Rodney Koeneke, Joanna Fuhrman & Gerald Fleming.

Join us for a post-AWP Poetry reading with these talented poets! Whether you’re in Seattle for the weekend or stay in Portland, we hope you’re free Sunday evening and we’d love to invite you to this off-off-off-site reading. Doors open at 7pm, and the reading will start around 7:30pm.

ALICIA JO RABINS is a writer, musician, performer and Torah teacher. She is the author of two poetry books, Divinity School and Fruit Geode, and tours internationally as a musician and performer. Rabins is the creator and performer of Girls in Trouble, an indie-folk song cycle about women in Torah, as well as the independent feature film, A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff. RODNEY KOENEKE’s most recent book of poems, Body & Glass, appeared from Wave Books in 2018. Other collections include Etruria (Wave 2014), Musee Mechanique, and Rouge State. He lives in Portland, Oregon.  

JOANNA FUHRMAN, an Assistant Teaching Professor in Creative Writing at Rutgers University, is the author of six books of poetry, most recently, To a New Era (Hanging Loose Press 2021). Her seventh book Data Mind, a collection of prose poems about the internet, is forthcoming from Curbstone/Northwestern University Press in 2024. In 2022 after publishing with them since she was a teenager, she became a co-editor of Hanging Loose Press. 

GERALD FLEMING’s most recent book is The Bastard and the Bishop (Hanging Loose Press, Brooklyn). Earlier books are One, The Choreographer, Night of Pure Breathing, and Swimmer Climbing onto Shore (Sixteen Rivers). Fleming taught in San Francisco's public schools for thirty-seven years and has written a few books for teachers. He and his wife lived in Lagunitas for 46 years, and have recently moved to a home in San Rafael. His work has appeared widely in magazines, anthologies, and online.
